From major concert events or corporate award ceremonies to fundraising events and everything in between, Yvonne brings a professional yet enthusiastic energy that is unmatched. Her longevity in a tough business can be attributed to her ability to adapt to any audience and her keen sense of professionalism. But if you ask her, she’ll probably say it has something to do with being from Detroit.
In 1992, with a techno song by Eon, Yvonne Monet began her first live mix show from the turntables to the airwaves on 99X in Atlanta. Her success as a club DJ was instantly turned into a new career with an even bigger following. The demand for personal appearances grew quickly, as did the ratings for her show and she soon began hosting regular air shifts as well as hosting other shows. Yvonne's shows 'The Beat Factory & X-Cellerator!' ran for seven years until she moved to Dallas, Texas to host a morning show at Merge Radio and then Middays at 93.3 The Bone. She returned to Atlanta in 2004 and opened a successful bar and restaurant in Newnan called The Alamo and worked on air at 92.9 dave FM until that station switched formats in 2012.
Over the years, Yvonne worked as the lead DJ at several Atlanta nightclubs, became 1 of only 100 Billboard DJs in the country that shaped the national dance charts, and won various DJ competitions and awards. To this day, she remains a highly sought after talent for events as a DJ, Emcee, and voiceover talent. She's been on stage in front of thousands of people, interviewed hundreds of celebrities, and traveled across the world to DJ for special events. Yet, she still gets that nervous energy before every gig.
